ClearSolitaire.com (“ClearSolitaire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Clear Solitaire. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use ClearSolitaire.com (the “Site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be plain and specific rather than full of legal boilerplate.

The short version: ClearSolitaire has no user accounts and does not collect personal information to operate the game. A small amount of technical and preference data is stored locally in your browser, and if you see ads or we use analytics, those third-party services may collect data as described below.

1. No Accounts, No Registration

ClearSolitaire.com does not require you to register, sign up, or create an account to play. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information to use the Site’s core features.

2. Information Stored in Your Browser (localStorage)

To make the game work smoothly between visits, ClearSolitaire uses your browser’s localStorage — a storage mechanism built into your browser, not a server-side database. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party by our own code.

We use localStorage to remember things like:

• Your in-progress game state, so you can resume a game you didn’t finish
• Game settings and preferences (e.g., card back design, draw-one vs. draw-three, sound on/off, Large Print mode, dark mode)
• Basic statistics about your play, such as games played, games won, win streaks, and best times
• Whether you have already seen or dismissed certain notices (e.g., a cookie/consent banner)

This information is not linked to your name or any other personal identifier, and we cannot access it directly — it lives only in your browser.

How to clear this data: You can delete this stored information at any time by clearing your browser’s site data or cookies for clearsolitaire.com (usually found in your browser’s Settings under Privacy, Site Settings, or Site Data), or by using your browser’s “Clear Browsing Data” tool and selecting “Cookies and site data.” Clearing this data will reset your saved game, preferences, and statistics.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

ClearSolitaire.com may display advertisements served through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, and, where permitted, personalize the ads you see based on your visits to this and other websites.

Depending on your location and consent choices, ads shown on ClearSolitaire may be:

• Personalized — informed by your browsing activity and interests, or
• Non-personalized — based on limited contextual information (such as the page content or your approximate location) without using your broader browsing history.

Opting out through these tools does not mean you will see no ads — it means the ads you see will no longer be personalized based on your interests.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (“GA4”) to understand how visitors use ClearSolitaire.com — for example, which pages are viewed, how long games last, and general usage trends — so we can improve the Site. GA4 may collect information such as:

• Pages and features you interact with, and general usage/event data
• Approximate location derived from your IP address
• Device and browser type, operating system, and screen size
• Referring website or source
• Aggregate and statistical usage patterns

We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization/truncation enabled, so your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics on our behalf. Google Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy and Google’s data processing terms.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Consent for EEA, UK, and Swiss Users

Today there is no consent banner on this site, because there is nothing on it that needs your consent. ClearSolitaire.com serves no advertising, and Google Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode v2 with the following defaults, which are set before Analytics loads and before any request is made to Google:

• If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization are all denied. No analytics cookie or identifier is written to your browser. Google receives anonymous, cookieless measurement pings that cannot be tied to you or to your previous visits.
• Everywhere else: analytics storage is allowed; all three advertising signals are still denied.

If and when we introduce advertising, we will add a consent management banner certified under Google’s Consent Management Platform (CMP) framework before any advertising or non-essential storage is activated in those regions. That banner will let you accept or reject each category of processing, and change or withdraw your choice at any time from a link in the site footer.

Where required by applicable law (such as the EU GDPR and UK GDPR), we and any future advertising or analytics partners will only process personal data for non-essential purposes after you have given consent, and you may withdraw that consent as easily as you gave it.

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you certain rights regarding your personal information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. Advertising cookies used by Google AdSense may, under CCPA’s broad definition, be considered a “share” of information for targeted advertising purposes. You can limit this by using the consent/ad-personalization controls described in Section 3 above, or by using the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honor where technically supported.

Because ClearSolitaire.com does not maintain accounts or collect personal information for its own purposes, we generally do not hold personal information tied to your identity that would be subject to access, deletion, or correction requests. 7. Children’s Privacy

ClearSolitaire.com is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at official@clearsolitaire.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Data Retention

Since we do not operate accounts and most game data lives only in your browser’s localStorage, that data persists until you clear it yourself or your browser removes it (for example, when clearing site data). Analytics data collected via GA4 is retained by Google according to the retention settings we configure and Google’s own policies, and is generally used in aggregated or de-identified form.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of ClearSolitaire.com after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
